adidas looks to take high-tech sneakers to an all new level with the Megalizer. The sneaker features a revolutionary technology that allows dancers to create music with their steps. There is a simple interface and some sort of unit that is placed into the tongue and when turned on the sneakers become virtual musical instruments. As of right now there are 4 models to choose from including 2 lows and 2 highs that look good enough for everyone from dancers to wallflowers alike.

Adidas introduces Megalizer in their new commercial.

Without music, there is no dance… But in this case: without dance, there is no music. This is the first shoes that let dancers create their own music with their moves.

Because Adidas added a special extra to this shoe, it offers a bigger value. It responds to huge trend, Experience Economy. But what I find even more interesting is the difficult and unhealthy development for young adults (18-25 years old) to get moving. This is an targetgroup that never fits in perfectly in the complex world of fitnessprograms. Those programs are often for elderly, adults or younger children. Young adults are a freestanding, own target group and that’s the way they wish to be seen. Through this new and creative way it’s possible to create beats and melodies with your friends. The focuses is on making music, not doing exercise. The way to make this splending, cool music is by dancing your but off!

I can imagine professional dancers providing dance workshops with these shoes at schools, poor neighborhoods and gym’s. It is unconsciously moving around. The way to fight health problems like obese are funny, new things like this shoe. Some young adults need a new mindset, before they actually like sports and get a better lifestyle. I think this is a potential winner in that way, Go Adidas.
